Take the right size and cut the fabric. The fabric for your toga costume should be of the length that is three times your own height, in order to fit the dress well to your size and hang on you properly. If you are five feet ten inches tall, then the fabric for your toga costume has to be at least seventeen feet and 6 inches in length and five feet ten inches in width preferably. Cut the fabric and sew it. Mark out the mid point of the fabric. With tailor's chalk mark the mid point in the length of the fabric. Mark out a semi-circle on the piece of cloth. Start from the top corner of one side and go up to the mid point and then back to top corner of the other side. Cut the semi-circle of fabric out. Give the cutting a finished look by hemming the corners of the cutting. You can check it by wearing once. It's always a good idea. 

Wash it properly before you wear it. You also have to decide that what you are going to wear underneath your toga costume. Your decision will depend upon how proper and accurate you want to look in your toga costume in your fancy dress party. You can make a short sleeve stylish tunic or blouse to wear underneath your toga to look more accurate in your dress. But, if you do not want to look proper in your toga-themed party, you can even wear a T-shirt underneath your toga.
